CPA 2024 EVENTS CALENDAR
CPA MIDWINTER CONFERENCE
February 8, 2024 Attendance: 150-200 live/virtual
CPA’s signature winter event: A full-day of live continuing education and leadership program, focused on the new and emerging clinical and professional issues pharmacists and pharmacy technicians need to know. MidWinter Conference includes our signature, annual session “New Drugs of 2023,” which provides a primer on the new drug approvals, marketing, and therapeutic information of the past year.
CPA ANNUAL MEETING
September 2024 Attendance: 200+ live/virtual
Since 1876, the Annual Meeting has drawn a wide variety of pharmacy professionals from across Connecticut and beyond and has been the region’s premiere pharmacy event, receiving publicity and media coverage before and after the event. The exclusive exhibit hall hours are unopposed by CE programs or other events, including the lunch and evening cocktail networking reception, which are both held in the exhibit hall.
PHARMACY DAY @ THE CAPITAL
March 2024 Attendance: 50+
Each March, Connecticut’s pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students gather at the State Capital for a day-long program of legislative education and one-on-one meetings with legislators, regulators, and other government officials. Activities include an exclusive policy breakfast with legislators, as well as live exhibits and demonstrations in the Legislative Office Building targeting the state’s key legislators and decision makers.
CONNECTICUT COMPOUNDING CONFERENCE
April 4, 2024 Attendance: 200+ (live/virtual)
Now in it’s ninth year, CCC focuses intently on compounding regulatory and policy issues, providing our attendees a definitive view of the current compounding landscape. CCC is a joint production of CPA and the Connecticut Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and draws a large number of hospital, health-system, and consultant pharmacists and administrators.
WOMEN IN PHARMACY SUMMIT
April 25-26, 2024 Attendance: 50-100 live
Launched in 2019, Women in Pharmacy is focused exclusively on nourishing the body, mind, and spirit of women pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and their allies. Event is held annually at the Spa at Norwich Inn.
FALL CE SERIES
October, November, and December 2024 Attendance: 100+ per event, virtual
To provide Connecticut pharmacists and pharmacy technicians every opportunity to complete their legally-required annual CE credits, CPA offers the annual Fall CE Series: one 5-hour, live CE program each month from October through December presented virtually. Each month’s program focuses on a specific pharmacy issue or subject (2023 programs included Pain and Pain Management (October); Specialty Pharmacy (November); and Diabetes (December)).
PharmLearn PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES
Quarterly 30+ per event, virtual
PharmLearn is a quarterly, free, members-only seminar series designed to provide CPA members with unique, informative programs that enhance their professionalism and expand their opportunities. Recent PharmLearn topics have included: Advanced Certifications for Pharmacy Professionals; Managing Student Debt; Recent Changes to CT Pharmacy Law; and Self-Advocacy and Negotiation.
PharmBrew NETWORKING SERIES
Approximately quarterly through 2024 Attendance: 30+ per event, live
PharmBrew Networking Series is designed to connect CPA members and friends, foster valuable professional relationships, and cultivate a strong sense of camaraderie within the association. We aspire to host these events quarterly throughout the state, at local craft breweries, though the frequency relies on availability and scheduling. Sponsorship offers the opportunity to distribute swag items to attendees, allowing you to get your brand and logo noticed by pharmacy professionals. Additionally, your brand will be featured prominently on all event promotional materials, and your sponsorship fee will help cover attendees’ first drink ticket, enhancing the overall experience and making a positive impression on potential customers or collaborators.
